About the Director
Adam Laity is a versatile cinematographer, filmmaker, and practice-led researcher whose work explores the evocative intersections of landscape, environment, and visual storytelling. With a PhD focused on cinematographic approaches to the "eco-sublime," he balances technical precision as a Director of Photography with a deeply meditative creative voice as an independent producer and director. His acclaimed film poem, A Short Film About Ice, garnered multiple international honors, including the Best Climate Emergency Film at the AHRC Research in Film Awards. Currently, Laity is at the forefront of immersive media, recently premiering the 360° fulldome project Gans’n Dhama Wedhen (In the Company of the Mother Tree) at the Brno Observatory & Planetarium. Based in Bristol, UK, he continues to bridge the gap between academic inquiry and cinematic practice, crafting "more-than-human" narratives that challenge our perception of the natural world.
