Why planetarians come to Dome Fest West
We screen around 38 fulldome films a year, from 13 to 15 countries every year since 2021. A jury picks the lineup and gives awards in categories like Best Narrative, Best Musical Feature, Best Interactive Experience, Best Environmental Film and Audience Choice. You see each film on a dome, the way your audience would, and the people who made it are usually in the room. The Fulldome Forward Expo runs alongside the screenings, with talks, demos and more than 27 sponsors and exhibitors in 2026.
What happens at DFW27
Dome Fest West is a professional development conference and a content marketplace in one trip. Come for the industry sessions, stay for the screenings, and leave with a shortlist of shows for your dome.
Fulldome Forward Expo
Three days of talks, demos and industry sessions, April 21-23, before the screenings start. The exhibitor floor had more than 27 sponsors and exhibitors in 2026.
Evening Mixers
Opening night, the awards ceremony and the evening mixers are where a lot of the best conversations happen. Bring business cards.
Meet the Filmmakers
The people who made the films are usually in the room, and so are staff from other domes. Between screenings there's time to ask a producer about licensing, or find out how another venue handled the problem you're stuck on.
Workshops & Panels
Workshops and expert panels on the questions dome venues are dealing with right now. The 2027 program is still taking shape, so reserve your spot below and we'll send it to you when it's set.
YOUR PLANETARIAN DISCOUNT
Planetarium and dome venue professionals get DFW's single largest discount, bigger than any other group we work with. DFW27 passes aren't on sale yet. Reserve your spot below and we'll email your discount code the moment passes go live, guaranteed, before the public sees it.
