Project Description
Located in the Alpes-Maritimes in the south of France, the International Dark Sky Reserve Alpes Azur Mercantour is a one-of-a-kind place. The dark night is preserved not only to allow people to witness some of the most breathtaking skies in Europe but also to protect an exceptional nocturnal biodiversity.
Bats, fireflies and other night owls share the spotlight with the spectacular starry nights of the reserve in this immersive short film by award-winning director and cinematographer Sébastien Gauthier.
About the Director
Founder of SG360 Studio, Sébastien Gauthier is a filmmaker, 360° cinematographer, and dome specialist. He is well recognized in the international planetarium community for his immersive visuals, award-winning films, and technical expertise placed at the service of storytelling.
