For too long, fulldome content creators have been working in the dark. They spend months, sometimes years, crafting immersive productions without ever really understanding how buyers think, what distributors actually look for, or why some titles get booked while others never make it past an inbox. This session pulls back the curtain.

"The Distributor's Perspective: What Fulldome Buyers Want Today and Tomorrow" is a rare, candid conversation between voices in fulldome distribution and programming. Moderated by Ryan Moore, the panel brings together Becky LaBrecque, Director of the Shiras Planetarium and Business and Technology Teacher at Marquette Senior High School; Tina Ratterman, Founder and President of BIG and Digital and Co-Founder of CineMetrics; and Eda Karaatli-Rentsch, Sales and Marketing Manager at Reef Distribution. Together, they represent the full chain of the fulldome marketplace, from the distributors who acquire and license content to the venue programmers who ultimately decide what audiences see.

The conversation will cover the full lifecycle of how a fulldome title moves from submission to screening. That means digging into how planetarium programmers actually make selection decisions, what stakeholders are involved in the process, and what a realistic programming calendar looks like. Panelists will speak frankly about the technical and creative red flags that get titles rejected, the attendance and feedback data that drives renewals, and what distributors are really weighing when they decide whether to take on a new production. Pricing norms, licensing terms, and marketing support expectations will also be on the table, giving creators a clearer picture of the business realities behind the deals.

Looking ahead, the session will explore where the fulldome market is heading over the next two to three years. Emerging venue formats like LED domes and premium immersive spaces are reshaping what content needs to do, and expectations around runtimes, subject matter, and visual quality are shifting with them.

Whether you are an independent creator trying to get your first title distributed, a producer looking to sharpen your pitch, or an emerging planetarium director trying to understand how your peers make programming choices, this session was built for you. It is the kind of inside-the-industry conversation that rarely happens in public, and it is one of the most practical and actionable panels at Fulldome Forum.
